"Dude…Seriously…Lame."
Cartman |
I'm about 2/3 the way through the color category of red, so in exactly one month I'll be halfway through the journey—even though I technically started this blog a year ago. I think Cartman's expression says it all: "Dude. You can't leave it like this…seriously."
Cartman, not only has a red jacket but also sports a furious angry streak leaving him blood red in the face. The pathetic sprawl of drawing utensils abandoned in front of him is enough motivation for me to keep going.

Beware the Dark Side
When pictures of the villain from the first Star Wars prequel the Phantom Menace were released I was blown away by the design and presence of the character. Too bad I wasn't as blown away by the movie. Quite an iconic character though.

Probably one of the worst mistakes of DC Comics history was the revamp of their cornerstone character Superman in 1999. Here's a tip of the hat…

The first video game I ever got into—Pac-Man. I guess the real name of the red ghost (in American Pac-Man) is Shadow, but his nickname is "Blinky".

Duck Tales was one of my favorite cartoons growing up. Huey is featured in the foreground because of his red shirt and hat. I decided to include Louie in the background seeing as I had forgotten him during the green period of this blog.

RED
I had a lot of fun drawing this one. I couldn't remember if Hellboy had "human" ears or if he had any fangs so I asked LaVonne to look it up and give me a hint. I had to render him in the likeness of the Mike Mignola style though I did put in some of my own styling.
It was recently brought to my attention that it wasn't clear that the drawings on this blog are rendered from memory (I only used a reference for a few of them). Now that I've gotten through almost a third of the project, I've started to notice (looking back) that my rendering of characters is based upon the style of the original and not my own interpretation.
