Another Batman. Just Because.

I thought I do another batman because the other one is a very high contrast silhouette and I wanted to draw and ink one that has a bit more definition and varying line.

The Dark Knight Detective

Batman for most of his career in popular culture wore a blue cape, cowl, boots and gloves. Ever since the 1989 film he has been depicted wearing black or dark gray and black in the comics.

The Tardis

Doctor Who's blue time traveling police call box. As a kid I'd stay up late and watch Doctor Who on PBS with my Dad. Good times.

The Cookie Monster

One of the first blue characters that popped into my head and one of my favorite Muppets. "C" is for crazy!

A Tale Of Two Santas

Robot Santa is the exact opposite in every way of the "real" Santa on Futurama. Originally the character was voiced By John Goodman.

The Red Shirt

The away-team on Star Trek: TOL was always suspect. There was Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy and some guy in a red shirt. It was this guy who was always first to find the mysterious creature and meet his ultimate demise. This is my tribute to the red shirt guys. Short lived and not prosperous.
For this 170th post on Niko's Ink, I've included the rough pencil drawing.

Steamboat Willie's Star

Some of the more memorable characters are the ones that are the simplest in design. Mickey Mouse has one of the most recognizable silhouettes as well as his color palette. Black, red, yellow and white. Do you remember which part of him in this picture is red?

Batman of the future or Batman: the next generation. Either way, a very interesting concept.

"Dude…Seriously…Lame."

Cartman
Well, I've started it up again—for real. After taking the Summer (and part of the Fall) off from my blog, I think it's time I get back to my goal and promise.
I'm about 2/3 the way through the color category of red, so in exactly one month I'll be halfway through the journey—even though I technically started this blog a year ago. I think Cartman's expression says it all: "Dude. You can't leave it like this…seriously."
Cartman, not only has a red jacket but also sports a furious angry streak leaving him blood red in the face. The pathetic sprawl of drawing utensils abandoned in front of him is enough motivation for me to keep going.

Whoop, whoop, whoop…

I can't forget about Dr. Zoidberg—the reddest character on Futurama. Talk to the claw…

Hhhhmmm. Slurm.

Yes! Futurama is back on the air with brand new episodes. Good to see you and your red hair again Fry.
