The Guardians of the Universe created an interstellar police force called The Manhunters. They were flawed and eventually rebelled against their makers and were destroyed. As a replacement enforcement group for the Manhunters, The Guardians then created the group known as the Green Lantern Corps.

The Red Shirt
The away-team on Star Trek: TOL was always suspect. There was Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy and some guy in a red shirt. It was this guy who was always first to find the mysterious creature and meet his ultimate demise. This is my tribute to the red shirt guys. Short lived and not prosperous.
